Values, Probity and Transparency

It is vital that the charity is run honestly and openly. The charity’s application  for incorporation will detail the standards to which it will adhere, but these are some important guiding principles:

  • The charity will be run to the highest standards as set by the Charity Commission and other relevant regulators

  • All trustees will be appropriately appointed according to Charity Commission standards and will be expected to act with regard to Nolan Principles

  • The charity will ensure equality across all protected characteristics and will not be overtly political.

  • Initially, the charity will have no employees, but as it becomes established it is hoped that a small employee base will be required. No employee shall be employed at less than the accepted living wage.

  • The charity will at all times ensure maximum efficiency in fund raising by limiting costs. For example:  Where expenses are incurred, these will be reimbursed at basic rates eg second class rail travel; advertising and publicity costs will be     minimised as communications between friends and friendship networks will do that for us; we will not pay for any publicity in social and           printed media, nor will we pay for celebrity               endorsements.
